Drywall Installation for Remodels and Basement Finishing
If you’re building a new wall or opening up a room during a remodel, it helps to decide where fixtures, cabinets, and shelves will go before the drywall goes up. Planning those details early gives you a chance to add support or leave access where it’s needed.
We hang, tape, and finish drywall so walls and ceilings are ready for the next step. During basement finishing, we also plan around utility access. In a bathroom remodel, we coordinate the drywall with the vanity, trim, and tile so the finished surfaces meet cleanly.
Drywall Repair for Walls and Ceilings
A dent from moving furniture, a hole left by an old fixture, or a ceiling cut open for plumbing can often be repaired without replacing the whole surface. We look at the size of the opening and the condition of the surrounding drywall before deciding how much needs to come out.
Once the patch is in place, we tape, apply joint compound, and sand the repair so it blends into the surrounding surface. If you want us to prime and paint as well, we can include that in the estimate.
Drywall Repair After a Leak
If you see a brown stain, bubbling paint, or soft drywall, start by finding out where the moisture came from. Once the leak is fixed and the area is dry, we can look at the damaged section and discuss what needs to be removed and replaced.
If a plumber already opened the wall or ceiling, send us a photo of the opening and the area around it. That helps us see what it will take to close it up and restore the finish.
What to Expect During Your Drywall Project
We start by reviewing the areas you want repaired or finished. Your written estimate spells out the work, including any removal, patching, drywall installation, finishing, or painting included in the project.
Drywall sanding creates fine dust. We protect nearby surfaces and use dust barriers and HEPA filtration where the job calls for them. If removal exposes damage that wasn’t visible at the estimate, we’ll show you what we found and discuss your options before doing added work.
Drywall Installation & Repair FAQs
Can you match my existing wall or ceiling texture?
We can often blend the repair into the surrounding texture. The result depends on the pattern, the size of the patch, and how the light hits the surface. We’ll discuss what to expect when we look at the area.
Do I need to repaint the whole wall after a patch?
Sometimes a touch-up works well, especially if you have the original paint and it still matches. If the paint has aged or the sheen is different, repainting from corner to corner may give you a more even finish.
What affects the cost of drywall repair?
The size and number of damaged areas, wall or ceiling access, the finish, and any painting all affect the price. A few clear photos and rough measurements are a good starting point for a free ballpark estimate.
